Overview
The Team Associated RC8T4.2e Team Kit is a 1:8 scale 4WD electric off-road truggy kit built for competitive racing and high-power brushless setups. It uses the latest RC8T4.2 platform updates from Associated Electrics' Area 51 program, combining durable suspension components, refined geometry, and drivetrain tuning options in an electric race chassis.
This kit is for racers who want to select their own brushless motor, ESC, LiPo batteries, servo, radio system, tires, wheels, and body. It is not a ready-to-run vehicle; it is a competition kit designed for drivers who understand setup work and want control over every major performance component.
Key updates include molded height-adjustable gearboxes, updated shock towers, revised 16-degree KPI steering blocks, a high-volume center differential, Factory Team hardware, and drivetrain components sized for serious 1:8 truggy loads.

Performance Benefits
- The height-adjustable gearbox design gives racers more control over driveline angle, grip level, and chassis response.
- Updated steering geometry helps the truggy track accurately through rough sections and technical corners.
- The high-volume center differential helps manage brushless torque and improves consistency on corner exit.
- Factory Team shock and wheel hardware improves durability in high-load areas.
- Multiple differential and shock tuning options let racers adapt the vehicle to clay, loam, outdoor dirt, or high-bite surfaces.
- The electric layout is designed for clean brushless power installation while keeping the chassis race-focused.
Usage Notes
- Best for experienced 1:8 electric off-road racers building a competition truggy with their preferred electronics.
- Use a race-grade 1:8 brushless motor and ESC combination that matches the track size, battery voltage, and gearing plan.
- Pair with high-quality LiPo batteries, a strong steering servo, and truggy tires selected for the surface.
- Follow the manual for droop, shock build, differential oil, steering geometry, and battery/electronics placement.
- The kit requires assembly and painting and does not include motor, ESC, servo, radio, receiver, batteries, tires, wheels, or body.
