Overview
Sharpen up the engagement and lighten the rotating mass on your nitro-powered Traxxas with the Hot Racing CNC 6061-T6 Aluminum Lightweight 3-Shoe Clutch & Flywheel Kit. CNC-machined from premium aluminum alloys and finished with eye-catching blue and silver anodized coatings, this complete clutch and flywheel upgrade is purpose-built for Traxxas nitro vehicles running the 2.5, 2.5R, or 3.3 engine — including the Revo, T-Maxx, Nitro Rustler, Nitro Stampede, and Jato.
A lightweight flywheel is one of the most effective ways to sharpen up nitro throttle response. Less rotating mass means the engine spins up faster, the clutch engages more crisply, and the power band feels more aggressive across the rev range. Combined with the precision-machined 7075-T6 aluminum clutch shoes and spring-steel clutch springs, this kit transforms how a nitro Traxxas drives.
Key Features
- Lightweight flywheel — CNC-machined 6061-T6 aluminum, blue anodized
- CNC-machined 7075-T6 aluminum clutch shoes, silver anodized
- Spring-steel clutch springs
- Brass flywheel collet for secure engine mounting
- 3-shoe clutch design for smooth engagement
- Compatible with Traxxas 2.5, 2.5R, and 3.3 engines
Performance Benefits
- Sharper, more responsive nitro throttle response
- Faster engine spool-up due to reduced rotating mass
- More aggressive power band feel
- Long-lasting aluminum and spring-steel construction
- Race-grade visual appearance with blue/silver anodizing
Usage Notes
Apply medium thread-locker on the flywheel collet nut. Verify clutch shoe and spring tension matches your driving style and engine — softer springs engage at lower RPM for smoother launches; stiffer springs delay engagement for more aggressive launches. Inspect clutch shoes periodically for wear and replace as needed.
