Overview
This is Hot Racing's heavy-duty rear center drive shaft for the Traxxas Unlimited Desert Racer. The assembly is CNC machined from hardened carbon steel and given a black finish, replacing the stock rear center shaft on a truck that puts a lot of torque through a long driveline.
Two details set it apart from a plain replacement. The CV pin is captured by aluminum rings rather than a set screw, so there is no small fastener to back out and let a pin walk; and the splined star joint is designed to take shock loading when the rear tires hook up suddenly on hard ground.
