Overview
Dramatically smooth out the drivetrain in your Traxxas 1/16 4WD vehicle with the Hot Racing CNC Hardened Steel Spiral Bevel Gear Set. CNC-machined from hardened steel and aluminum, this deep-spiral-angle bevel gear set replaces the stock gears in the front and rear transmissions of the Traxxas 1/16 4WD platform — including the 1/16 Slash 4x4, 1/16 Revo, 1/16 Summit, 1/16 Mustang, and 1/16 Rally.
Spiral bevel gears feature helical teeth formed along spiral lines on the gear face, allowing teeth to engage gradually rather than all at once. The result: smoother power transfer, quieter operation, less shock loading on the drivetrain, and dramatically reduced gear noise compared to straight-cut bevel gears. It's a fundamentally better gear design — and now you can drop it into your 1/16 truck.
Key Features
- CNC-hardened steel and aluminum construction
- Deep spiral angle for gradual tooth engagement
- Smoother, quieter gear operation than straight-cut gears
- Reduces shock loading on the drivetrain
- Direct-fit replacement for Traxxas 1/16 4WD bevel gears
Performance Benefits
- Significantly quieter drivetrain operation
- Smoother power transfer through the differential
- Reduced shock loading extends gear and bearing life
- Better efficiency through the front and rear transmissions
- More consistent feel under throttle and braking
Usage Notes
This set provides one ring and pinion for ONE differential — TWO sets are required to upgrade both front and rear differentials on a 1/16 4WD vehicle. Best used with new Traxxas TRA3030X or TRA3029X differentials. Gear mesh must be shimmed correctly during installation — included shims may or may not all be needed depending on your transmission case tolerances. For additional shims, use Hot Racing part W8X. Inner differential gears are NOT included.
