Overview
The Hitec MD485HW was developed for the industrial market where precision is paramount — and it has become a favorite among no-prep drag racers for the exact same reason. It's the only servo in its class to use a magnetic positioning sensor in place of a traditional potentiometer, eliminating wear and delivering dramatically better centering accuracy pass after pass.
Combined with Hitec's 32-bit D-Series circuit (4096-step resolution) and zero-backlash Karbonite gears, the MD485HW centers perfectly and tracks straight down the strip every run. Extensively tested by Team Hitec drivers and proven on the lanes — when consistency wins races, this servo delivers.
Key Features
- High-resolution 32-bit programmable digital circuit (4096 steps)
- Magnetic encoder position sensor — no potentiometer wear
- Zero-backlash Karbonite gears
- PWM or TTL protocol capability
- Heavy-duty, long-life motor
- IP65-rated case for wet/dusty staging
Performance Benefits
- Perfect centering pass after pass — no potentiometer drift
- IP65 case handles wet and dusty staging conditions
- Zero backlash for consistent, repeatable tracking
- Fully programmable with the Hitec DPC-11
Usage Notes
Best Used With RC Scale(s): The MD485HW is universally sized to fit most 1/10 scale chassis and is particularly popular in no-prep drag racing. It also excels in any 1/10 scale touring car or industrial RC application where straight tracking and repeatable precision determine success.
