Located in the infield of the tread, diamond patterned pins consume space, surface area, and ultimately a flexible arrangement that conforms to high-end racing conditions.
As the dual tread intersects itself, a wall provides additional side bite and stability during hard side-loads and 180-degree corners. The soft and layered tread terminates at the edge, and it rolls off to give the tire an easy transition for an easier driving feel. Inside, a firmer inner carcass webbing was built into the Double Bar to take on more difficult jumping tasks, faster speed European style track layouts, and reduce the ballooning effect of racing at higher speeds.
