Overview
The Kyosho Fazer D2 Chassis Kit is a 1:10 scale electric rear-wheel-drive drift platform designed for authentic counter-steer driving. Unlike a ready-to-run drift car, this body-less and electronics-free kit lets builders choose their own body, wheels, tires, motor, ESC, servo, gyro, transmitter, and battery setup.
The Fazer D2 shares its core design with the Readyset version but adds selected option-style components and setup flexibility out of the box. Its adjustable wheelbase, adjustable rear tread, adjustable motor position, large steering angle, rear spool axle, and full ball bearing drivetrain make it a strong entry point for serious RWD drift tuning.
This chassis is built for drivers who want a dedicated drift platform rather than a converted touring car. It supports a wide range of 1:10 bodies and allows builders to fine-tune balance, steering response, and rear traction to match their driving style and surface.
Key Features
- Purpose-built 1:10 scale 2WD RWD drift chassis kit
- Body-less and electronics-free format for custom builds
- Adjustable wheelbase from 240mm to 274mm
- 260mm standard wheelbase with recommended body range of 260mm to 273mm
- Adjustable rear tread for body and wheel fitment
- Adjustable motor position to tune weight balance and traction
- Rear spool axle for consistent drift power delivery
- Large steering angle for counter-steer drift control
- Aluminum steering crank pins for precise steering response
- Multi-fit battery holder for common RC battery packs
- Full ball bearing specification with 22 bearings
- Machine screws used instead of tapping screws for improved assembly precision
Performance Benefits
- The RWD layout delivers realistic drift technique with throttle control and counter-steering.
- Adjustable motor position lets drivers tune forward/rearward balance for different surfaces.
- The rear spool provides predictable power delivery to both rear wheels during long slides.
- Large steering angle improves transition control and helps hold deeper drift angles.
- Full bearings reduce drivetrain drag and improve steering smoothness.
- Variable wheelbase and rear tread make the chassis compatible with many popular 1:10 drift bodies.
Usage Notes
- Best used as a 1:10 RWD drift chassis for indoor polished concrete, P-tile, carpet, asphalt, or other drift-prepared surfaces.
- A drift gyro is strongly recommended for authentic and controllable RWD drifting.
- Use drift tires and wheel offset matched to your local surface and chosen body width.
- Kyosho recommends 5mm offset wheels and a body with a 260mm to 273mm wheelbase.
- The chassis requires electronics, tires, wheels, body, battery, charger, and finishing supplies before use.
