The Robinson Racing 17T Aluminum Pro pinion gear is a 48-pitch pinion machined from 7075 aluminum with a hard anodized black finish and a 1/8" bore. Aluminum keeps rotating weight down, which makes these pinions popular for lighter-load and racing setups. At 17T this is on the smaller end of the range, which lowers the overall gear ratio for more torque and lower top speed, a common choice for crawling, heavy vehicles or keeping motor temperatures in check.
