The P-51 Mustang, with its laminar-flow wing and Merlin engine capable of 1,500hp, is famous as one of the great fighters of WWII. The U.S. 4x4 Light Vehicle combined a rigid, lightweight structure with a reliable engine, and over 600,000 were produced during WWII.
