Overview
Lower shock mount screws take a beating, and a loose one means a shock that moves where it should not. This Tekno RC set addresses that with two clockwise-thread and two counter-clockwise-thread screws, so on each side of the car the screw is turning in the direction that tends to tighten rather than back out as the suspension cycles.
Each screw also carries a dimple in the head, which gives a droop gauge or depth tool something definite to register against for easy droop and shock length measurements. Rather than threading the full length, each screw features a shoulder, so the shock pivots on a smooth, unthreaded surface instead of on thread crests.
Key Features
- Two clockwise and two counter-clockwise thread screws per set
- Dimpled head for droop and shock length measurement
- Shouldered shank so the shock pivots on a smooth surface
- Designed to resist working loose during a run
- Genuine Tekno RC hardware
Performance Benefits
- Opposing threads greatly reduce the chance of a screw backing out
- Dimpled head makes droop measurements quick and repeatable
- Shoulder reduces wear on the shock's lower eyelet
- Keeps shock geometry consistent corner to corner
Usage Notes
- Install the correct hand of thread on each side of the car
- Snug firmly; the shoulder sets the final position, not the torque
- Use the head dimple as the reference point when setting droop
- Inspect the shoulder for wear during normal shock service
