Overview
Tekno RC's M5 pinion gears were built to raise the bar for 1/8 scale electric power. This 28-tooth MOD1 pinion has a 5mm bore and uses an oversized M5 set screw in place of the usual smaller grub screw, so it bites harder into the motor shaft and stays put.
The line runs from 11T all the way to 30T, so you can land on exactly the gear ratio your track, motor and battery want. A tooth either way is the fastest way to trade punch for top speed, or to pull motor temps back down.
Key Features
- 28 tooth MOD1 (1.0 module) pinion gear
- 5mm bore to suit standard 1/8 scale electric motor shafts
- Oversized M5 set screw for a more secure clamp
- Steel construction for life behind high-torque brushless power
- Sold in single-tooth steps from 11T to 30T
Performance Benefits
- Single-tooth steps let you fine-tune acceleration against top speed
- Larger M5 screw resists stripping and stops the pinion slipping on the shaft
- Accurate MOD1 tooth form keeps the mesh smooth and quiet
- Gear down to drop motor temps, up for speed on open layouts
Usage Notes
- Confirm your motor has a 5mm shaft before fitting
- Pair with a MOD1 spur only - never mix with 48 pitch, 32 pitch or MOD1.5
- Set the mesh with slight backlash and re-check after the first run
- Seat the M5 screw on the shaft flat with a properly fitting hex driver
