Overview
Gearing is the quickest way to change how a car feels on the track, and it starts with a quality pinion. This Tekno RC pinion is cut in MOD 0.8 (32 pitch) with a 5mm bore, so it slides onto a 5mm motor output shaft and meshes with any MOD 0.8 spur gear.
The gear is hardened for long service life behind high-power brushless setups, and the tooth count is etched into the face so you can identify it instantly in the pit box after a day of gearing changes.
Key Features
- 29 teeth in a MOD 0.8 (32 pitch) tooth profile
- 5mm bore for 5mm motor output shafts
- Hardened construction for extended service life
- Laser-etched tooth count for quick identification
- Precision-cut teeth for smooth, quiet mesh
Performance Benefits
- Dial in top speed versus acceleration for each track layout
- Hardened teeth hold their profile, keeping mesh consistent run after run
- Clean mesh reduces drivetrain drag and helps control motor temperatures
- Lets you keep a full gearing range on hand for changing conditions
Usage Notes
- Set gear mesh with a small amount of backlash; too tight builds heat and wear
- Tighten the pinion set screw on the flat of the motor shaft
- Check motor and ESC temperatures after a run and adjust tooth count as needed
- Pair only with a MOD 0.8 (32 pitch) spur gear, never 48 pitch or MOD 1
